Helllloooo….?

Ok, I’m still here … how many days have I been asleep?? Chemo #5 was much like 1, 2, 3, and 4 … just more of it. I started to feel the effects of it during the infusion itself on Tuesday, which up until now I really hadn’t been. Slept on the drive home and have been pretty much asleep since then. I briefly woke up from a nightmare where Trump had won the election, then rolled over and went back to sleep.

In the few waking moments between sleeping and reading my current book, I’ve been binge-watching Girls, starting from season 1. Girls is about as I expected it; I love their “fuck you” attitude toward the world, even if all they do is fight with each other. I still think the Millennials are our best chance at “saving the world,” with their sharing economy and dystopian outlook. Maybe it’s completely typical and is like this every year, but I’m loving the election map if only 18-to-25-year-olds voted (sorry, this is not supposed to be a political blog – I will stop):

But other than reading, watching Girls, and sleeping, I simply have had the energy to do nothing, which means my main state of being is boredom. Today is Friday, which means that we hit the road to the oncology clinic to get me some more meds and some hydration – I’m more dehydrated than usual this time since it’s hard to drink and sleep at the same time – and I’m already feeling a wee bit better.

My most interesting weird new side effect is the fact that the extreme dry skin on my fingers means that  I can no longer unlock my iPhone or iPad with my fingerprint. I assume there is a bare minimum of moisture needed for that feature to work. #firstworldproblems!

  1. Thanks for the update. Glad you were able to get lots of sleep and that hydration treatment on Friday. You are a super brave person. Love you.
